I have this great idea for a Batman movie. Okay so we all love Batman movies? Christopher Nolan is a great director and a maverick for rebooting the Batman franchise. Thanks, Chris! Anyway, a while ago, I heard that Dark Knight Rises is going to be Nolan's last Batman movie. Makes sense because he wants to move and do some other stuff. Fine by me. Perhaps he'll reboot it again like Michael Bay is doing with Transformers 4. Wait! Michael, your rebooting a franchise that you already rebooted? That's not rebooting! That's taking a trilogy and turning it into a movie franchise! Don't be full of yourself!
Wow, I'm getting off track! Anyway, let's get back to my Batman movie idea. Okay, so one day I came across a few CNN videos on YouTube. One of those videos was about cult leaders and how they mess with people's minds. How that they say that they're the superior ones and stuff. I find it fascinating that people believe what these false prophets say and become brainwashed by their words. Their "followers" get so fixated on their words that they loose their sense of reality and do whatever they are told do and feel. Now I bet your wondering yourself this: What does all of this stuff have to do about Batman? Well, here's where I'm getting at.
Like all Batman movies, it takes place in Gotham City. If you make a Batman movie, it has to take place in Gotham City. It's tradition and you don't mess with tradition. So, Gotham is slowly rebuilding itself after what happened between Batman and Bane (Spoiler alert, Bane is the villain in Nolan's new Batman movie). Batman is starting to get his life back together and everything. Fighting crime and upholding the truth and justice. Things are looking pretty good for him. Now we all remember what happened at the end of The Dark Knight, right? Batman leaves for a bit and Joker get's arrested and goes to Arkham. Big bang boom the end. We don't really know what Joker was doing in between moments when Batman was figuring out the Joker's move. Here's where it kicks in. I imagined that Joker was training a secret apprentice. Someone to continue his bidding just in case he either died or was sent to jail. So we see what that was like. That is going back to what I said about big figures brainwashing young individuals and making them step outside their comfort zones and do what they are told to do. So, Joker's apprentice is this young girl who saw Joker as a hero and a liberator. Finally bringing chaos into the system. Joker messes her mind and tells her that chaos, rebelling, and anarchy are is the way you handle society. That committing big acts of violence and murder is how you get control of the masses and that Batman is the real bad guy. This girl believes every word is told to her and studies the Joker's every move. Now I bet your all wondering, what is the name of this girl. Okay, you might hate me on this because she wasn't really in the comic books. She is a character in the Batman universe, but she was introduced in the animated series. Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn. Yes I'm quite aware that actor who played Joker is dead. The actor is dead yes, but the character is still alive.
So, now that Joker is in Arkham, someone needs to continue spreading the fear to the masses. Harley Quinn is our movie's main bad guy so that will be very interesting to see. Harley Quinn is now brainwashed by Joker and shows no signs of being turned back to her normal self. She continues doing killings, bombings, etc. All of the stuff that Joker wasn't able to really get done. Batman hears about these acts of crime and murder and prepares to stop Harley Quinn and snap her out of Joker's mind games. Harley also starts using the Joker's words to convince other civilians that Batman is a murderer and that Joker was innocent. A few people start to see Harley's words as truth and start to join her little rebellion clan. So that's pretty much my idea for a Batman movie. Batman must stop Harley Quinn's rebirth of anarchy and help bring her back to normal. Oh, and stop the destruction of Gotham. We can't forget that.

Feeling Like a Hundred Bucks & Judd Apatow
So recently I went through the roughest writer's block and one of the most emotional moments of my life. Like if I made a top ten list of my saddest moments, my writer's block would be number 2. Why number 2 (haha, I get it. Number 2. Hilarious) because number 1 was when I found out that Tony Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma. Anyway, I went through a real tough time. Luckily, I had some help from my good friend Judd Apatow. A while ago I sent him at tweet about writer's block and how to get rid of it. I had a pretty good feeling I wasn't going to hear anything back from him. I mean, come on he's Judd Apatow. He's the Spielberg of comedy movies (from a producer's stand point). So I was shocked that the next day when I checked my Twitter account that I got a response back from him! When I heard back from him, I was happier than a fat kid getting a big ass sundae! His advice to me was: "Don't judge. Just ramble and ramble. See what comes out. Judge it tomorrow". I really want to get that tweet framed so whenever I go through this again, I can just look up to that quote and know that I can get through anything. Thank you, Judd Apatow. Thank you for inspiring me to make the best out of myself. Now that being said, I must go. Knocked Up is on.

Channing Tatum on SNL
So did anyone watch last night's episode of SNL? The host was Channing Tatum. You know, that hot guy who was in Step Up. That guy who looks kinda brain-dead but has abs that can make butter melt. Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself here so I'll just get to the point. The show was actually pretty good. Better than I expected actually. No, there weren't any Step Up skits (major disappointment). But I did keep track how many times Tatum was topless during the show. I'm not gay but I just wanted to keep track. Don't judge me you would do the same! He was only topless twice. Once during his monologue (audience was full of girls [tweens and mid twenties who are clearly dumbfounded] and some guys). And second was during the next skit where he spoofed Matthew McConaughey (which was a pretty spot on impression. Overall, the show was really cool and the dude can act. And by act I mean decent community theater acting. Can't wait for next week when Zooey aka "Jess" is hosting. Gonna be a great show!

Silent Film Ideas & Tigers Because Those Are Really Cool
I haven't done a blog in a while now so I think I owe you guys on. Just a warning to anyone who reads this, there won't be any tigers in this blog. None. Sorry. And as I continue to type this, I know I'll be losing visitors by second. So just to make things more enjoyable, here's a picture of a tiger. Yup, that's a tiger. That's for you. Enjoy!

So, I had a somewhat traumatic and dramatic moment last night. Yup, that's right a TD. I panicked because I realized that I've been in film school for over a year and I haven't made a single short film. I suck and I hate myself for not making anything. Every time I write a screenplay for a short film, I give my heart and soul into getting it made. But in the end, it never gets made. I give my hopes up and in the end, it never gets made and I have egg on my face. I think it's because I'm young or something or maybe my film school chums don't really like me. IDK. I tried to write something, but I just couldn't finish it because I knew it would never get made. *sigh*. Who knows. But I haven't given up hope. Nope, got one single krill of hope left in my body. I decided to make a silent film. However, I need some help. I need some ideas. So if you want to help me out, I would really appreciate it. Send me your ideas here on or tweet them to me @MattJVids . I could really use the help.
